Traditions in motion
"Traditions in Motion" is an Erasmus+ project that brings together young people from Spain and Belgium, aged 14–17, to explore European citizenship through the lens of cultural heritage. By engaging in traditional dances and games, students will experience first-hand how traditions not only preserve history but also continue to evolve, connecting people across generations and borders. The project is rooted in subjects such as Citizenship, History, History of Culture, Music, Physical Education, and Social Studies. Activities are designed to cultivate key competences, including citizenship, cultural awareness and expression, multilingual communication, and personal, social, and learning-to-learn skills.Through workshops, exchanges, and collaborative performances, students will learn about the cultural practices of their peers, while reflecting on the values of inclusion, mutual respect, and shared belonging that underpin European identity. The movement in dances and games becomes a metaphor for the transmission of cultural heritage—constantly shifting, yet always uniting communities. AimsTo foster mutual understanding and inclusion among young Europeans. To strengthen awareness of cultural diversity and shared European values. To encourage active citizenship through creative and participatory practices. To highlight how traditions remain dynamic and relevant in contemporary society. Expected ResultsThe project will promote intercultural dialogue, encourage collaboration, and build a deeper sense of European citizenship. Participants will develop an appreciation of cultural diversity, gain confidence in expressing themselves across languages and traditions, and cultivate a lasting sense of belonging within the wider European community.
